Apply for IOJT membership:

Article 7:  Structure - Add Deputy Secretary General.  Eliminate reference to the “Academic Committee.” The Board of Executives retains the power to appoint committees as needed.  So the Academic Committee still exists it is just not a standing committee identified in the Statutes.

Article 8: General Assembly – The last sentence in (c) has been moved under Article 11: President as it refers to the President’s power to appoint up to four additional members of the Board of Executives.  In addition, The language identifying members of the Board of Executives has been moved to Article 10: Board of Executives so when referencing Board of Executives the reader can locate all roles, membership and powers under a single heading – Board of Executives.  Currently, these changes reorganize existing authorizations for ease of reference, one must refer to various Articles to determine the membership, selection and powers of the Board of Executives and President.

Article 10:  The Board of Executives - The language regarding the membership of  the Board of Executives has been moved from Article 8: General Assembly (see above) to consolidate all references to the Board of Executives in a single Article including the last sentence previously found in Article 12:  Establishes the Role of the Deputy Presidents which is a Board of Executive function.

New Article 11: Officers – this addition identifies the President, Secretary-General, Deputy Secretary-General and Treasurer as the officers of the IOJT.  This addition allows the reader to refer to all four positions as Officers without having to list all four separately.

Article 12:  Establishes the Role of the Deputy Presidents – language moved to Article 10: The Board of Executives providing one location for the Board of Executives role, membership and power.  The power to establish the role of the Deputy Presidents in now included in Article 10: The Board of Executives as explained above.

Article 13: Secretary General – renumbered and added reference to the Deputy Secretary General.  The current Memorandum of Agreement that is developed with each host institute provides that the Deputy Secretary-General work with the President, Secretary General and host institute representatives to plan the scientific program for the IOJT Conferences.  This addition simply recognizes that role.

Article 14: Deputy Vice Presidents – this new Article references the language in Article 8:  The General Assembly which identifies the five Deputy President Regions and language that authorizes the President to appoint two additional Deputy Presidents as needed.  By adding a specific Article for the Deputy Presidents, a reader can locate that function without having to reference various Articles to identify the membership, selection, role and number of Deputy Presidents.
