[Reminder][IOJT 2024 International Conference] Amendment to Presentation Guideline

Dear IOJT Members and Colleagues,

 

 

Greetings,

 

This is a friendly reminder that the deadline for submitting proposals for the 11th IOJT International Conference is fast approaching. With only two weeks left until the due date, we'd like to draw your attention to the recent amendment made to the presentation guidelines to provide further clarity. 

 

Please find below the revised part of the presentation guidelines, especially the text highlighted in red:

 

 

Call for Presentations: 11th International Conference on the Training of the Judiciary 2024


  ■ Date: November 3-7, 2024

  ■ Venue: Sono Calm Goyang, South Korea

  ■ Theme: Judicial Education at a Crossroads: Preparing for the Future of the Judiciary - Embracing Human Rights, Technology, and Effective Pedagogy

 

To be considered for the 11th IOJT International Conference, presentations must address one of the following themes:

 

  ■ Judicial Education on Diversity & Inclusion, and Human Rights
    □ Gender
    □ Race

    □ Religion
    □ Disability
    □ National Division
    □ Pandemic Issues
    □ Judicial Training in the Era of Technology 
    □ Remote / Hybrid Courtroom Hearings & Legal Training

  ■ Developing and Strengthening Judicial Institutes

  ■ Judicial Training and AI

    □ AI and Chat GPT
    □ AI and Judicial Ethics
    □ AI and Sentencing

  ■ Innovative Pedagogy: Embracing the Technology in a Changing World

  ■ Impact of the Climate Crisis & Judicial Education 

  ■ Future of Judicial Cooperation: Encouraging Cooperation among IOJT Members

 

Presentation Guidelines:

 

We invite submissions that offer practical insights, research findings, and case studies related to the conference theme.

 

 ■ A session will be around 90 minutes in duration, including 30 minutes at the end for Q&A. This provides 20 minutes for each presenter and 10 to 15 minutes for each panelist, although the exact duration may be flexible within the range of ±5 minutes depending on the number of presenters and panelists.

 ■ Cooperated submissions or a session composition involving one or more presenters and/or panelists are also acceptable, subject to the review process.

 ■ Submissions must include a title, abstract (max 300 words), and brief speaker biography.

 ■ Title, abstract, brief speaker biography should be submitted in English.

 

How to Submit: Submit your proposals to iojt2024@scourt.go.kr with the subject line: "IOJT 2024 Presentation Proposal - [Your Name]."

 

Deadline for Submission:  April 12, 2024

 

Review Process: The topics and presenters will be chosen by the IOJT Conference Program Committee (CPC).

 

Language: The 11th IOJT International Conference will have simultaneous interpretation for English, French, and Spanish available in the plenary room. Please note that simultaneous interpretation may not be available in the breakout rooms. Presenters are strongly encouraged to use English for presentations in the breakout rooms. For any accompanying materials, such as papers, overviews, checklists, PowerPoints, etc., that may accompany presentations, we encourage you to submit these materials in English.
